Claudio
Sericano
Claudio Sericano is an Italian photographer of architecture and fine art. He began to photograph as a young man, and already in 1989 he won the first prize in a national competition, with a landscape photo. With the new millennium the exploration of cities begins, and with the deepening of post-production techniques, he experiments with a more creative approach, and discovers that architectural photography can aim to arouse emotions rather than merely celebrate the geometries of the buildings from which it has origin. He focuses on some essential urban elements, photographs them and places them in a completely distorted dimension. Thanks to creative photo editing, he reinvents lights and shadows, and alters the colors according to a strictly personal style that often results in feelings of anguish and alienation. In recent years he has intensified his participation in photographic awards, with good results: Winner "World Masters of Photography", Wien 2022 Category winner in Paris PX3 2021 and Neutral Density Awards 2021 Best BW photo winner in Jewels Circuit (FIAP) 2022 Second place in IPA International Photography Awards 2021, BIFA Budapest 2021 and MIFA Moscow 2022; Third place in MIFA 2022 Siena International Creative Photo Awards (Italy), Runner-up in 2021 and Highly Commended in 2022. SIPA Siena International Photo Awards, Honorable mention in 2022. Photos of him have been published in numerous books and magazines in many countries, including interviews and articles. Photos of him have been shown in numerous exhibitions in many countries. The Insomnia photo was used as the main advertisement for the Foremost Taiwan 2022 photo exhibition. He is currently a curator, editor and professional critic of the 100asa.com website.
